Brett Keisel travels by tractor these days

I really wish that Pepper Leach could've been around when Brett Keisel showed up at Steelers training camp Wednesday (this link contains naughty language).
Keisel decided to arrive by way of the gigantic front-loading Kubota tractor you see above. If you're thinking something like, "That must have been terribly inconvenient for anyone else trying to travel on the same roads he was on," you would be absolutely correct. Via Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
[Keisel] said he drove the tractor about 20 miles Wednesday, including up Route 30 into Latrobe. Along the way, he received some strange glances from other drivers.
"It took me maybe an hour," he said. "I got some looks. People were like, 'What is this guy doing?'"
Keisel's got a love of tractors that goes back to his Wyoming childhood. He's got a pal in the area that allows him to use his tractors for … I don't know, whatever Brett Keisel might use a tractor for. Showing up for training camp and annoying motorists, apparently.
That wasn't the only unique thing about Keisel's look, though.
His beard, once mighty and once shorn, is coming back for 2012 with a vengeance. It's already got about a two-month growth, and I'm sure it won't feel warm or itchy at all in the Latrobe summer heat.
Keisel wore a special T-shirt, too, depicting his kneeling archer sack dance, alongside the words, "HUNT FOR VII," in reference to the Steelers' quest for a seventh career franchise Super Bowl victory. No one can accuse Brett Keisel of not making an entrance.

Every once in awhile, you'll see an outfielder make a diving catch. After oohing and aahing, you'll sometimes say to yourself, "that was nice — but did he really have to dive?"
That's kind of how I felt after seeing Josh Reddick of the A's scale the Rogers Centre wall to make a catch during Oakland's 16-0 mashing of Toronto on Wednesday night. The leap onto the chain link was nice, sure, but Reddick could have caught Travis Snider's drive just as easily if he had done a traditional jump and reach from the warning track.
But Reddick, perhaps sensing the presence of cynics like me, had an explanation.
From MLB.com:
"Yeah, I knew where I was on the field, saw the fenced area behind me, and that's where the ball was projecting to go," Reddick said. "I felt like it had a chance to get out, but I jumped early to kind of get a heads up, and I heard [relief pitcher Jerry] Blevins back there the whole way, supporting me and telling me I got it. It all happened so fast. You just go with it and it works out.
"I wasn't trying to get cool points. I was just trying to make the catch."
OK, so Reddick was being safe rather than sorry. I can buy that. And like those unnecessary diving catches, I still derived my fair share of entertainment. So kudos.
Still, I'm not going to go ahead and christen Reddick's feat as better than this Spider-Man catch in Japan. Or this one, either.

Hey, NHL players are just like us … provided "us" includes those who accidentally tweet out links to pornographic websites on occasion.
That's San Jose Sharks star Logan Couture's feed from Wednesday night, which spewed forth a link to YouJizz.com, a pornographic video site. This link in particular transported followers to the videos with the most views. His 110,000 followers. Whoops.
The tweet was deleted about 20 minutes after it appeared, but not before it was screen-capped and summarily ridiculed. And by that we mean: If you're thinking about the best Alexander Semin joke to make right now, slow your roll because someone's already made it.
And now, Puck Daddy presents the Top 5 Logan Couture "Why I tweeted a porn link" excuses ... (UPDATE: And his actual excuse as well.)
5. "I was hacked. And since Tim Peel was officiating, no one saw it."
