The News Brian Fuentes waited until his second appearance of the season to blow his first save with his new team. He allowed four hits, a walk, and three earned runs in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Athletics. Our View It could be a rocky season for the southpaw if he does not start resembling his former self soon. The Angels have a strong bullpen and do not figure to let Fuentes blow many opportunities before replacing him.

The News Brian Fuentes gave up a ninth inning home run to Nick Hundley but managed to pick up the win as the Angels came back to beat the Padres 5-4 on Saturday. It was one of two hits allowed by the left-hander as he struck out two, walked none, and committed two errors. He gave up two runs, one earned, in his lone inning of work. Our View Fuentes has not had a good spring and he'll take an 8.22 ERA away from his first spring with the Angels. His velocity is down and there has to be concern regarding how effective he can be with the game on the line. He lost his closer's job to Manny Corpas just two years ago, and its conceivable he does the same this season with Jose Arredondo waiting for his chance.
