The News The Cardinals re-signed tight end Stephen Spach to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Financial terms were not released. Our View Spach is purely a blocking TE, as witnessed by his 13 catches spread out over four years. He will continue to fill the role that he excels at while with the Cards, and should contribute on special teams as well. Read More

The News Derrick Mason agreed to a two-year deal to remain with the Ravens, according to Jamison Hensley's (Baltimore Sun) twitter page. Financial terms were not disclosed. Our View Mason will see less double teams with stud Anquan Boldin added to Baltimore's arsenal at receiver - but that will also likely mean less pass targets for Mason. Read More

The News Kenny Peterson has been released by the Broncos, according to the Denver Post. Our View Peterson became expendable after Denver added Jamal Williams and Jarvis Green to their defensive line. The News According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, the Rams have re-signed tight end Daniel Fells to a one-year $1.5 million deal. Our View Fells drew interest from the Patriots, but the Rams decided to keep him around for another season. They plan to target a TE in this year's draft, but whoever that turns out to be likely won't be ready to contribute tight away, so Fells remains the top guy in STL. Still, he won't be much of a fantasy asset with the Rams' QB woes. Read More

Free-agent nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu signed a two-year, $6.975 million contract with the Redskins on Wednesday. The 6-foot-5, 345-pound Kemoeatu spent last season on injured reserve with the Carolina Panthers after tearing his Achilles' tendon in training camp. His agent, Ken Vierra, said in a telephone interview that the tendon is "structurally sound" and Kemoeatu is able to walk and jog but not run yet. The Redskins are expected to shift from a 4-3 alignment to a 3-4 under new defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, and Kemoeatu's presence could allow tackle Albert Haynesworth to move outside. Read More

The Jets have re-signed tight end Ben Hartsock, a major part of the league's top-ranked rushing offense last season. Hartsock, signed as a free agent last August, had one catch - a 2-yard touchdown in Week 3 - but was used mostly as a blocking complement to Dustin Keller. He helped pave the way for an offense that averaged a league-leading 172.2 yards per game behind Thomas Jones, now with Kansas City, Shonn Greene and Leon Washington. Read More
