Our View That would be a whole lot of tax-free money for Kovalchuk to turn down. It remains to be seen whether or not Kovalchuk will remain in the NHL next season, as he has to at least consider this latest offer to join the KHL.

The News Updating an earlier item, despite being absent from Chicago's morning skate on Sunday, Andrew Ladd (undisclosed) will be play in game five of the Stanley Cup on Sunday evening, according to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune. Our View It will be the first time he's been active during the season's final series. Expect his contributions to be fairly limited as he gets his legs back underneath him.
Giroux helps Flyers even series

The News Claude Giroux's goal at the end of the first period gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead which they would never relinquish in an eventual 5-3 win over the Blackhawks that evened the Stanley Cup Finals at two games apiece. Our View Giroux's goal was his tenth of the playoffs and the Flyers got a complete team effort in this one. Mike Richards, Mat Carle, Ville Leino and Jeff Carter all scored for Philly who won handily despite going just 1-for-7 on the power play. Michael Leighton made 31 saves and now has his team facing a clean slate for the final three games of the series.
