Besides making one bad pitch in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Colorado, San Diego SP Dustin Moseley had a solid outing. Moseley allowed two hits and no walks in his 3 2/3 innings in relief of Clayton Richard. “I was pretty happy with that one,” Moseley told The San Diego Union-Tribune. “I threw a lot of strikes today, a lot of first pitch strikes. I was getting strike one, hitting my spots and not getting the ball out over the plate. I’m at my best with strike one. Most pitchers are, but it’s huge for me.” He added that this was a good outing to build from as he competes for the final rotation spot. “Dustin threw the ball well,” said Padres manager Bud Black. “He was filling up the strike zone … called strikes on the corner. He tried to throw that slider to Giambi off the plate and just missed, but overall I thought his outing was solid.”
