The Milwaukee Brewers were slammed around on the road. In a quiet postgame clubhouse, they were unanimous in their relief and optimism that their next game was at home. Randy Wolf gave up a first-inning grand slam to Ryan Roberts, Chris Young homered twice and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Brewers 10-6 on Wednesday night to force Game 5 in the NL division series.

Heyward to get MRI

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Braves OF Jason Heyward is scheduled to have an MRI on his right shoulder on Thursday. That is the same shoulder that put him on the disabled list during the regular season. Heyward said he wants to be sure it is 100 percent entering the 2012 season.

Diamondbacks infielder Ryan Roberts only had one hit in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Brewers on Wednesday but it made a big difference in the outcome of the game. He came up with the bases loaded in his first at-bat and launched a grand slam off starter Randy Wolf. He would finish 1 for 5 in the 10-6 win.

Roy Oswalt seemed all set to close out the Cardinals. He had an early lead, had won big games in St. Louis and had never lost a postseason start. So much for all that history. David Freese homered, doubled and drove in four runs as the Cardinals roughed up Oswalt and beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 Wednesday night, forcing a deciding fifth game in their NL playoff series.

Oswalt takes loss in Game 4

Phillies SP Roy Oswalt got touched up a bit in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Cardinals on Wednesday. He gave up five runs on six hits over six innings of work in the 5-3 loss. The right-hander gave up one in the first before making it through his next two frames unscathed. He would give up a two-run double to David Freese in the fourth beforee surrendering a two-run homer to Freese in the sixth.
