Harden won't be ready for rotation

A's manager Bob Geren told MLB.com on Saturday that SP Rich Harden does not have enough time to open the regular season as a starter. Harden has been dealing with a strained lat muscle in his back all spring and is working his way back to pitching off of a mound. "There's not going to be enough time for that," Geren said. "He hasn't even been off the mound yet, and we're leaving for San Francisco in a couple of weeks. It's just the timeframe."
