The News Tim Lincecum held the A's to two runs over eight innings of a 6-2 win on Friday night. Our View This was Lincecum's most dominant outing since May 15th, but it wasn't even vintage Lincecum. He allowed seven hits, a walk and fanned seven. Still a very good game, but not what owners and fans have come to expect. Looks like he's slowly shaking the rust off and easing out of his slump. He lowered his ERA to 3.12 on the year.

The News AOL Fanhouse reports that Alex Rodriguez (hip) will not play until Tuesday at the earliest. Our View The Yankees are still saying that A-Rod won't have to head to the DL, but the injury appears to be getting increasingly serious by the hour. He's been labeled with hip flexor tendinitis, but it's supposed to be unrelated to last year's famous hip injury. We'll see.

The News Jason Kubel went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Friday's 2-1 win over the Braves. Our View Kubel's 36th RBI came in a two-run seventh inning that erased a 1-0 deficit and eventually gave the Twins a 2-1 victory. The hulking LF/DH is starting to heat up with a four game hitting streak that features five RBI.
Hudson goes the distance in loss
Posted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 45 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Tim Hudson was brilliant again on Friday, allowing just two runs through a complete game, but took a tough loss as the Braves fell 2-1 to the Twins. Our View Hudson held the Twins to just seven hits and a walk, but fell to 6-2 due to lack of offense. He fanned just two in the game and won't help in that department (3.96 K/9 coming in), but his 2.43 ERA is too good to ignore. It's too bad his offense ran into a buzz saw in Francisco Liriano on Friday.

He will sit in favor of Craig Gentry, however, against left-hander Manny Parra on Saturday. "He's a different kind of left-hander," Washington said. "He throws hard and has a nasty slider. But I'm going to play Borbon against left-handers." Texas Rangers - Ron Washington - Milwaukee - Julio Borbon - Manny Parra

The News Yuniesky Betancourt had a huge day Friday, going 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBI as the Royals knocked off the Reds 6-5 in 11 innings. Our View Betancourt drove in the game-winning run with a single in the 11th, which was fitting since he pretty was KC's offense on the day. He's now hitting .287 with five homers and 27 RBI this season for the lowly Royals.
