The Tampa Bay Rays have placed outfielder Gabe Kapler on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hip flexor and recalled outfielder Justin Ruggiano from Triple-A Durham. The moves were announced before Saturday night's interleague game against Florida. Kapler has a .217 batting average with one homer and eight RBIs in 38 games.
