Cam ends '12 with ankle sprain

Panthers trainer Ryan Vermillion said Wednesday that quarterback Cam Newton had X-rays on his ribs and left ankle after the season but they came back negative. However, the Charlotte Observer reports an MRI showed Newton did suffer a minor high sprain on his ankle. According to Vermillion, Cam “would be a full go and there is no way he would miss a game.”
