Griffin diagnosed with ACL, LCL tears

ESPN.com reported late Tuesday that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III did, in fact , suffer a complete tear of the ACL of his right knee, along with the previously reported LCL tear. Griffin will undergo a “total reconstruction” of the knee Wednesday, according to the report. The procedure will include reconstruction of his previously-repaired ACL from a surgery in 2009. Initial reports indicated that the team only knew fore sure about the LCL tear, so this comes as a surprise. The expected recovery time for this procedure is 6-8 months.
