Find someone or someplace looking for good (c)losers!I'm in a 5x5, 12 team, H2H Yahoo Public and over the weekend I was able to add 2 good players- T. Saito and G. Atkins who were dropped on Thursday.  I used my #5 priority on Saito and dropped Oliver Perez before his good start on Sunday.  Atkins then cleared waivers, I was surprised so I grabbed him for Gorzelanny.  So my team looks this now:

Batters
C - A.J. Pierzynski (CWS - C)
1B - Justin Morneau (Min - 1B)
2B - Kelly Johnson (Atl - 2B,OF)
3B - Aramis Ramirez (ChC - 3B)
SS - Carlos Guillen (Det - SS)
OF - Hideki Matsui (NYY - OF)
OF - Josh Willingham (Fla - OF)
OF - Alfonso Soriano (ChC - OF)
Util - Eric Byrnes (Ari - OF)
BN - Chone Figgins (LAA - 2B,3B,OF)
BN - Robinson Cano (NYY - 2B)
BN - Garrett Atkins (Col - 3B)

Pitchers
SP - Johan Santana (Min - SP)
SP - Jake Peavy (SD - SP)
RP - Mariano Rivera (NYY - RP)
RP - Jose Valverde (Ari - RP)
P - Dan Wheeler (Hou - RP)
P - Takashi Saito (LAD - RP)
P - Andy Pettitte (NYY - SP)
BN - Tim Lincecum (SF - SP)
BN - Roger Clemens (NYY - SP) NA
DL - Chris Carpenter (StL - SP) DL

srExecute(); I have a couple questions.  Should I stick with 4 closers?  Wheeler has been getting blown up lately, but not blowing saves.  Do I drop wheeler if Perez clears waivers?  Should I stick it out with 4 closers?  A couple of people have suggested that I trade some pitching for some bats- I didn't think my bats were that bad, just off to slow starts: Figgins, Cano, and now Atkins.  Hideki and Aram have been heating up and Soriano has been on fire.  I'm second in my league at the moment.  Here are the notable FAs in my league:

Batters: R. Sexson, Felipe Lopez, Shane Victorino, Kevin Youkilis

Pitchers: Chuck James, Oliver Perez (W may 16), Tom Gorzelanny (W may 16), Jarrod Washburn, Randy Wolf, David Weathers

Any advice would be great.  Thanks!

Year after year it always amazes the GNUru just how impatient people can be regarding their fantasy baseball teams.  Winning or losing, a competitive fantasy baseballer will constantly be looking for moves that can improve their team. While no GM should ever be content with their team no matter how well they are doing, sometimes the best moves are the ones that are never made. At this point it looks like you have done an excellent job of turning other peoples trash into your treasure.  Now, you are getting to the point where you do not have the roster space to be as aggressive on the free agent market without tempting fate and becoming the same guy that you have been feasting on yourself.  In this situation, every mistake is amplified as the players you are releasing are, in turn, quality fantasy players themselves.  In your situation, you are in second place and, as you mentioned, you have several players not yet performing.  With some patience your team could easily be in first place without ANY roster moves.

But what is done is done and while it's hard to argue with your acquisitions of Saito and Atkins (even though Atkins is the GNUru's top bust candidate), finding starting pitching with the potential that Gorzelanny and Perez have is difficult.  To compound matters, your bullpen is already stacked.   While the GNUru would not necessarily recommend releasing any of your closers, you should try and deal 1 or 2 of them in combination with a hitter, for a quality starting pitcher or maybe an upgrade a catcher.    The GNUru would not feel comfortable with just 3 starting pitchers up and running (even though Peavy and Santana more than pick up any slack).  By consolidating your resources to make a deal you not only get a good player in return but also gain some roster room to play with.  To answer your other question, your hitting looks fantastic.  While some of your hitters have gotten off a little slow the only position player I would look to upgrade at is catcher.  A.J. Pierzynski is not a top 10 catcher and in a 12 team league he has little to no value.
