Knicks and Sessions close to deal

Posted by DoubleDribble 13 hours ago (http://feeds.cbssports.com)
The New York Post reports that Ramon Sessions could accept an offer from the Knicks soon. "We've been playing footsie with the Knicks the last two weeks," agent Chubby Wells said. "I'm sure we'll clarify something in the next couple days with the Knicks or another team and figure out what's going on."

Posted by DoubleDribble 1 day 7 hours ago (http://feeds.cbssports.com)
The Oklahoma City Thunder signed free agent guard Kevin Ollie. The 36-year-old Ollie has appeared in 637 games over 12 seasons spread over 11 different teams. He has averaged 3.8 points, 2.3 assists and 1.6 rebounds.

Sessions close to becoming a Knick

Posted by DoubleDribble 2 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Ramon Sessions is close to accepting an offer from the New York Knicks, according to the New York Post. According to Sessions' agent, the former Bucks' point guard could sign a deal with the team in the next few days. Our View The Bucks seem unlikely to match any offer Sessions will get elsewhere due to luxury tax concerns and the fact that they like rookie Brandon Jennings, so look for Sessions to head to the Knicks sooner rather than later. Coach Mike D'Antoni has been lobbying for Sessions, and it looks like he will be an excellent fantasy option for next season if he does wind up playing his home games in Madison Square Garden.

Hansbrough out for two months

Posted by DoubleDribble 5 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News ESPN.com reports that Tyler Hansbrough could miss up to two months due to a right shin injury. The Pacers maintain that the power forward will be available at the start of the season. Our View Hansbrough missed the start of his senior season at UNC with a stress fracture in the shin, and there's a good chance that this is related. Unless the bone permanently heals, the ailment could prove to be a major hurdle over the course of an 82 game schedule.

Knicks will make offer to Sessions

Posted by DoubleDribble 5 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News ESPN.com reports that the Knicks will offer restricted free agent Ramon Sessions a contract soon. The Bucks will have an opportunity to match, but the Knicks feel as if they'll be able to land him. Our View The Bucks have been pleased with point guard Brandon Jennings, the 10th overall selection in this summer's draft, and re-signing Sessions long term could hinder his development. Sessions has come a long ways since being the 56th overall pick in 2007. In 39 starts last season, he averaged 15.1 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds. He would be a fantasy dynamo in Mike D'Antoni's offense.

Williams close to latching on with Grizz

Posted by DoubleDribble 6 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Marcus Williams is believed to be nearing a one-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. Our View Williams has been highly disappointing in his first three NBA seasons, and was released by Golden State last winter. He supposedly play very well in summer league ball, however, and would be Mike Conley's backup.

Rubio all but assured of staying in Europe

Posted by DoubleDribble 6 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Ricky Rubio has told a Spanish language newspaper that he plans to play for FC Barcelona in Spain next season. Our View Rubio claims he is staying in Europe because the T-Wolves are not allowed to pay his buyout, but who knows why he's really staying on the other side of the pond. Regardless, don't expect to see him in Minnesota for a long, long time.

Dunleavy hoping to be back before January

Posted by DoubleDribble 6 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Mike Dunleavy (hip, knee) believes he'll be back before his scheduled January return date, according to the Indianapolis Star. Our View Dunleavy played in just 18 games last season, but did average 15 points per game in those matches. As long as he is 100 percent healthy, he should make a nice midseason acquisition this season.

Harpring contemplating retirement

Posted by DoubleDribble 8 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Matt Harpring, dealing with chronic knee problems, may retire, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Our View The 11-year veteran averaged just 11 minutes and four points per game last season, and is most likely done as a meaningful contributor in the NBA even if he doesn't retire.

Chandler-for-Okafor swap nearly complete

Posted by DoubleDribble 9 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News The Hornets are apparently in the final stages of a deal that will send Tyson Chandler to the Bobcats in exchange for Emeka Okafor, according to NewOrleans.com. Our View Chandler will make roughly $3 million more than Okafor over the next two years, but he comes off the books two seasons from now, while Okafor is locked into his contract through 2014. In terms of fantasy impact, there's not a whole lot to be said here, as both players are efficient yet offensively-limited big men who will post fine field goal percentages, awful free throw percentages and fine rebound and block totals. Still, it can't help to lose the surroundings of one of the NBA's premier point guards, Chris Paul, dishing you the ball, and thus you have to be a bit skeptical that Chandler will be able to score as much in Charlotte.

Warriors release Davidson

Posted by DoubleDribble 9 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News The Warriors waived Jermareo Davidson on Monday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Our View Davidson averaged three points and 2.4 rebounds in 14 games with the Warriors last season. He underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot in late March and failed to impress in five summer league games this offseason, and thus will now attempt to latch on with another club.

Odom to make decision in next few days

Posted by DoubleDribble 9 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Free agent Lamar Odom is expected to make a decision regarding where he'll sign within the next few days, according to ESPN.com. Our View Miami's Dwayne Wade has been recruiting Odom to return to his former team, the Heat, and it looks like Odom's decision has come down to Los Angeles or Miami. The Lakers have apparently reduced their original three-year, $27 million offer, though it's unknown whether their current offer is better than the $34 million over five years, including an option to opt out after the fourth year, that the Heat have reportedly put on the table. The ball remains in Odom's court, and it looks like we'll find out where he'll be playing before long.
