Fox homers in start in left field

Athletics utility player Jake Fox made his fifth start in left field Monday against the Angels and connected for his second home run, going 1 for 3. Fox is known more for his bat than his glove, but according to MLB.com, manager Bob Geren doesn't have any qualms about starting him in left. "Fox played a lot of left field in Chicago last year in place of [Alfonso] Soriano when he was on the [disabled list]," Geren said. "He does a fine job out there."
