Within a week after signing with the 49ers, wide receiver Austin Collie made his San Francisco debut in Thursday’s preseason game against the Broncos. Collie, who has been plagued by concussions, spent last season on injured reserve with a ruptured patella tendon. He was cut by the Colts in the offseason.
Collie entered the game late in the fourth quarter and caught a short, 4-yard pass from Scott Tolzien and converted a fourth down with a 16-yard reception. He was targeted three times and finished with two catches for 20 yards in a 10-6 defeat.
