SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL has upped its offer to Ilya Kovalchuk to three years for $42 million, according to the Bergen Record.
Our View
That would be a whole lot of tax-free money for Kovalchuk to turn down. It remains to be seen whether or not Kovalchuk will remain in the NHL next season, as he has to at least consider this latest offer to join the KHL.
