Clinton Portis (groin) is trying to be ready for Washington's Monday night game against the Eagles in Week 10, according to Redskins beat writer Rich Campbell.

He last played in Week 4, but is getting close to a return. If he's at least limited in practice on Thursday, you can expect him to be active on Monday. With Ryan Torain (knee) also battling injury, it's unclear what Portis' role would be against Philadelphia were he to be declared healthy.
