Our View Although Bynum says he is "ready to go" for game five of the NBA Finals on Sunday, after he was limited to just 12 minutes of action in game four, you have to wonder if it is even worth it for the Lakers. Expect an update on his condition tomorrow or early Sunday.

Izzo to Cavs rumors heating up

Posted in Fantasy Basketball by DoubleDribble 573 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News According to Yahoo! Sports, there's a chance that Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo could take the same job in Cleveland without an assurance that LeBron James will be with the club in 2010-11. Our View Cavs owner Dan Gilbert happens to be a Michigan State alum, and has been putting a full-court press on Izzo in recent days. Part of that press, a six-year, $30 million deal, would cushion the blow of Mr. James potentially leaving Cleveland after Izzo took the job. Stay tuned.

Avery Johnson will be Nets' next head coach

Posted in Fantasy Basketball by DoubleDribble 574 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News The Nets have reached a verbal agreement with Avery Johnson to be their new head coach, according to ESPN.com. Our View Johnson was the NBA's Coach of the Year with Dallas in 2005 and took the Mavericks to the finals in 2006 before being dismissed after the 2007-08 season. He's worked as an analyst with ESPN since that time but has been known to desire another NBA head coaching job, and now he has it. The Nets were awful last season but do have two potential stars in Brook Lopez and Devin Harris, not to mention some other nice young pieces as well as the money to make a few big moves.

Garnett's 25 not enough

Posted in Fantasy Basketball by DoubleDribble 575 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 25 points, but Boston muffed their first home game in the series and fell 91-84 to the Lakers. They now trail 2-1 in the NBA Finals. Our View Garnett was 11-of-16 from the field, but wasn't much of a presence around the rim. He had just six boards and one block in the game. Still, he was more of a factor than Paul Pierce (5-of-12 for 15 points) and Rajon Rondo (11 points, three boards and eight dimes). No one was as bad as Ray Allen though. The usually reliable Allen was 0-of-13 from the field, missed all eight three-point attempts and finished with just two points, four rebounds and two assists. He'll need to wake up if the Celtics want to even this series.

LeBron leaning to three-year deal with Cavs?

Posted in Fantasy Basketball by DoubleDribble 575 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News The New York Post speculates that LeBron James will re-sign with the Cavs via a three-year contract. Our View The Post also offers speculation that if the Cavs fail to win a title over those three years, James will leave town with a clear conscious, knowing that he spent a full decade in Ohio trying to secure a ring. The Nets, a team that is part-owned by Jay-Z, could be a possible destination after those three years. Again, let's remember that this is all speculation, and you'll be sure to here plenty more talk until James makes his final decision.
