Lorenzen Wright's death is being investigated as a homicide by the police, according to a report by the Associated Press.

The Shelby County medical examiner's office says that Wright died of a gunshot wound. A 911 hangup call was made from his cell phone on July 19 near the place his body was found. Wright played in the NBA for 13 years and spent time with the Grizzlies, Hawks, Kings, Cavs, and the Clippers. The Clippers took him seventh overall in the 1996 NBA Draft.
