Belinelli not expected to play

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that if Marco Belinelli is out for Friday's game at Houston then Willie Green would start in his place and not Marcus Thornton. “As much as I like Marcus’ scoring, he doesn’t have the size that you like at that position to start the game,” coach Monty Williams said Thursday. “Willie is probably a better option with that group. I would like to keep Marcus in that role of giving us a spark off the bench.” After watching Belinelli struggle to make cuts at Thursday’s practice, Williams said he probably will not play tonight. Belinelli was injured in the opening minute of Wednesday’s game attempting to rebound. He had started all 39 games, and his 11.0 scoring average is third on the team.
