All-Star outfielder Carl Crawford was scratched from Tampa Bay's starting lineup up against Boston on Friday night because of a stomach virus. Matt Joyce started in left field for the Rays and batted ninth. Crawford is batting .297 with 14 homers and 68 RBIs. He is second in the major leagues with 41 stolen bases.
