Jorge Posada made a positive step on Tuesday, performing catching drills for the first time since returning from the disabled list, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Posada caught Andy Pettitte in a bullpen session, blocked balls in the dirt and made all-out throws down to second. "It feels fine, it's good," said Posada, who missed time with a hairline fracture in his right foot. "We just want to be smart about it. Take a day off tomorrow and do it again Thursday." He will continue to DH until he's ready to resume his role behind the plate.
