He came back out for the 10th and gave up a leadoff infield single but was able to strand the runner to pick up his second win of the season. Hamilton ties a Rangers recordPosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Josh Hamilton's 47 June hits are tied for the most ever by a Rangers player in any month, according to ESPN. Our View He is hitting an absurd .470 with nine home runs and 30 RBI in June, and has hit safely in every game he's played in since June 4. He has two more games in which he could pick up his record-breaking 48th hit.
Beltran not returning before the All-Star breakPosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News According to the New York Times, Carlos Beltran (recovery from knee surgery) will not return before next month's All-Star break. Our View Rumors had been running rampant that he could be rejoining the club as early as today, but thankfully, everyone has taken a deep breathe and realized how silly that would be. Just three games into a minor-league rehab assignment, he needs much more time to ensure that his knee is healthy and ready for the day-to-day grind of being a major league outfielder.
V-Mart may avoid the DLPosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News According to the Boston Globe, Victor Martinez's broken left thumb might not necessitate a trip to the disabled list. Our View His break is at the very tip of his thumb, good news for a Red Sox team already dealing with its fair share of injuries. That being said, he is slated to be re-evaluated on Monday afternoon, and if the swelling has not gone down, the Red Sox may have no choice but to hold him out for 15 days. Stay tuned.
Dave Eiland ready to rejoin YanksPosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News According to the New York Times, Yankees pitching coach Dave Eiland will return to the club on Tuesday after taking a three-week leave of absence. Our View Not a moment too soon for A.J. Burnett, who has posted an 0-5 record and 11.35 ERA during Eiland's absence. Although Eiland can't be expected to get Burnett back into his dominant form overnight, it is very unlikely that New York's number two starter will continue to pitch as poorly as he did during Eiland's time away from the team. Stay tuned.
Jhoulys could get demotedPosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Despite posting a 3.51 ERA and 71 strikeouts through his first 66.2 innings of work this season, Jhoulys Chacin could be the odd-man-out of Colorado's rotation when Jorge De La Rosa returns from the disabled list next month, according to the Denver Post. Our View Not because he hasn't pitched well enough to stay in the rotation, but because he still has options left. Were the decision based solely on merit, it would likely be Aaron Cook or Jason Hammel getting the boot. Stay tuned.

Giants SP Tim Lincecum was done after a season-low three innings Sunday in a loss to the visiting Red Sox, having already thrown 79 pitches. He had a three-start winning streak snapped, allowing four runs on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Manager Bruce Bochy insists his ace isn't hurt, he was just off. "Things just weren't coming out like I wanted them to," Lincecum said. "I've gotten a little better at not necessarily accepting it but understanding these types of outings. I just felt like I was a robot out there." Boston Red Sox - Tim Lincecum - Strikeout - Hit - Innings
Mets eyeing Cliff LeePosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News According to the New York Post's Joel Sherman, the Mets are eyeing Mariners hurler Cliff Lee. Our View Apparently feeling emboldened after going 13-5 in interleague play this season, the Mets are going to "go for it" this summer it appears. That being said, it's unlikely they have the kind of prospects Seattle will be looking for in exchange for Lee. Stay tuned.
B.J. Upton facing team disciplinePosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News B.J. Upton could face discipline after failing to run hard after a rolling ball in the gap on Sunday and then subsequently getting into a heated argument with third baseman Evan Longoria in the dugout, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Our View Upton has faced lack of hustle chargers before, and considering he compounded his Sunday incident by getting into a fight with Longoria, it wouldn't be surprising if he is given a game suspension by the Rays. Stay tuned.
Norris activatedPosted in Fantasy Baseball by DuckSnort 41 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Bud Norris (biceps) has been activated from the 15-day disabled list. Our View Out since May 23, he is expected to start against the Brewers on Monday night. Considering he was the owner of a 6.80 ERA before going down, his fantasy value is very limited outside of NL-only leagues.
