Angels 2B Howard Kendrick sat in favor of Maicer Izturis for the second time in three days Monday against the Red Sox, though he did enter the game as a pinch hitter and stayed in to play first base, going 0 for 2. Manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com before the game that he doesn't want Kendrick to get worn out. "He's been playing a lot, so we're just giving him a little break," Scioscia said. "He's important to us. We're just trying to have a couple of guys catch their breath."
