Many fantasy footballers make an effort to ignore the tight end position on draft day. Although, the tight end position is traditionally weak, the elite tight ends provide perhaps the greatest value over replacement (VOR). For example, stud TE Antonio Gates scores as many points as a top 10 Running back in most fantasy league formats. On the flip side, bad tight ends score on the level of a mediocre kicker. While the GNUru doesn’t recommend investing an early round pick on a TE outside of Antonio Gates, its important not to ignore the position and end up with a low-end option. 1. Antonio Gates, SD 2.
