Jackson hopes to play in finale

Rams RB Steven Jackson confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he has a herniated disk in his back, which kept him out of Week 16 at Arizona. However, he also told the paper that he plans to play in Week 17 against the 49ers. "All you can do is rest it," he said of his sore back. "You can't shoot it up. You have to stabilize the muscles around it and my core — all things that I'll work on in the offseason. But like I said, no surgery is needed."
