Yankees SP Andy Pettitte, pitching on three days' rest, won the deciding Game 6 of the World Series against the Phillies on Wednesday to become the first pitcher to start and win the clincher in all three postseason rounds. He beat Minnesota and the Los Angeles Angels in the AL playoffs. Pettitte lasted 5 2/3 innings, yielding three runs, four hits and five walks. He also recorded three strikeouts. The win was his second of the World Series.
