According to the Baltimore Sun, the Nationals have claimed left-hander Doug Slaten off waivers from the Diamondbacks.



Our View

Slaten is a 30-year-old middle reliever that spent almost all of last season in Triple-A Reno. He appeared in just 11 games with the D-backs and had a 7.11 ERA in 2009. Even though those numbers are less than impressive, he could represent an upgrade in a horrible Nationals bullpen.
