The New York Journal News reports that Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Monday afternoon that Phil Hughes would not be used to replace Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder, 15-day DL) when his rotation spot comes up Thursday in Minnesota. He did not announce a starter, however. The leading candidates for the start are thought to be Alfredo Aceves and Sergio Mitre (currently in Triple-A).
