Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta ponders a questions as he speaks to the media at a news conference Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, in Cleveland. Acta, fired as the Washington Nationals manager in July after two and a half seasons, was hired on Sunday by the Indians, who gave him a three-year contract with a club option for 2013. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Manny Acta had two choices for his second job managing in the majors. He picked Cleveland over Houston, where his baseball career began. Acta, Washington's former manager who turned down a chance to return to the Astros, was introduced as Cleveland's 40th manager on Monday. Acta signed a three-year contract with the Indians, who outbid the Astros over the weekend for the 40-year-old.
