The News According to Jayski.com, Kasey Kahne could end up in the No. 09 car in 2011. Our View Rick Hendrick and James Finch are reportedly working on a deal to put Kahne in the No. 09 for a year. Finch would be the owner, but Hendrick Motorsports would provide equipment and technical support. Finch, whose team has been in sponsorship trouble all season, would get to put his car on the track for an entire season.

The News According to Jayski.com, Tony Stewart set a deadline of June 1 to decide whether or not he was expanding to three teams in 2011. Our View June 1 has come and gone, and with no word on a third team, it appears Stewart-Haas Racing will remain a two-car operation. Given the regression of both the No. 14 and No. 39 team's in 2010, expanding probably became a less attractive option for Stewart. Losing Old Spice a sponsor couldn't have helped matters either.
Gordon keeps rolling at MIS

The News Jeff Gordon finished fourth at Michigan Sunday, notching his third-straight top-five finish at the track, according to NASCAR.com. Our View Gordon finished second in both starts at MIS last season, and he ran in the top five most of the afternoon Sunday. His winless drought was extended yet again, but it was a strong showing for the No. 24 team following a terrible outing at Pocono.

The News Denny Hamlin led a race-high 123 laps on his way to his first career win at Michigan International Speedway, according to Yahoo! Sports. Hamlin has now won five times in the last 10 races, and he is within 47 points of the top spot in the standings.

The News According to Jayski.com, Denny Hamlin ranked third on the speed charts during Happy Hour practice at Michigan. Our View Hamlin has never won at MIS, but he finished third and 10th at the track last season. He also won last weekend's race at Pocono and leads the series with four victories in 2010. The No. 11 appears fast again, and fantasy owners should consider Hamlin among the favorites.

Harvick starting in a familiar spot
Posted in Fantasy NASCAR by RickyBobby 562 days ago (http://ownersedge.fanball.com)
The News Kevin Harvick qualified 30th or worse for the sixth time in 2010 after a 31st-place effort in qualifying at Michigan, according to NASCAR.com. Our View Harvick has finished 11th or better in his five previous starts from 30th or worse, and with 10 top 10s in 14 starts in 2010, fantasy owners shouldn't be scared off by a bad performance in qualifying. Ironically, Harvick's worst finish of the season came when he started on the pole at Martinsville.
Roush has work to do

The News Roush Fenway Racing teammates, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth all qualified outside the top 15 for Sunday's race at Michigan, according to NASCAR.com. Our View The new FR9 engine didn't appear to help the Ford's troubles, at least not in qualifying anyway. All three drivers have exceptional records at MIS, but the Fords simply aren't as fast as the other manufacturers right now. Don't rule out top-10 performances from the "Roushcateers," but those fantasy owners expecting a win out of the organization are setting themselves up for disappointment.
