From The Sports Xchange notes: C Rod Barajas was placed on the 15-day DL after undergoing an MRI on Monday. He was diagnosed with a mild strain of his left oblique. The Mets will hand the catching duties to rookie Josh Thole with veteran Henry Blanco serving as the backup.
