Japanese clubs have asked the Royals about pitchers Philip Humber and Bryan Bullington, the Kansas City Star reports. Both hurlers could be released this winter when the Royals need space on the 40-man roster.

Humber and Bullington are both former first-round picks who've generally failed to make an impact in the majors. As Colby Lewis showed, a stint in Japan can help players to get their careers back on track. These two pitchers would have to agree to any deal that sends them overseas.
